For now, you should be able to see the tasks that are due today in your “Planned” smartlist under the “Today” bucket.

When I started looking at using To-Do vs. Outlook tasks, I automatically assumed that items scheduled for 'today' would just show up in My Day. The fact that My Day requires manual populating every day when you're already tracking tasks in other lists is completely unintuitive and not conducive to productivity at all. All it does is add another task that you have to do every day - Task #1: Populate My Day. This is dumb.
