If you have enabled the ‘Flagged email’ option from settings in To Do, then any email you flag in Outlook will show up under the ‘Flagged email’ smartlist.

From the Outlook web app, you can create a task out of an email by right-clicking —> Advanced actions —> Create task. You can also select a message in the body of an email and create a task out of it.

It would be a major boost in productivity if we can integrate our "folders" inside Outlook, with our "lists" inside To Do. Flagging email inside Outlook in order to manage them inside To Do is inefficient, especially when you get 100+ emails a day. I tend to flag inside Outlook only when there is a clear due date, but I won't use the "no date" flag; instead I move that email into a context related folder inside Outlook for follow-up later. I would love to be able to process my follow-ups within To Do in such a way so I can see my non-email related tasks alongside my email related tasks, all within the same context related tasks.

I noticed today inside To Do that I can move a flagged email into a list, which is a step in the right direct, but this adds an extra processing step. What I mean by that is I first need to flag it inside Outlook, then go into To Do to move it to the appropriate list, which is poorly inefficient. As I mentioned at the start, please integrate our mail folders with To Do lists, so that whatever folder in Outlook I move a message into is also viewable inside To Do, under that same folder/list.

I've been looking for a way to combine email and task lists into the same system for years, and it just has never existed (from what I've been able to find). MS is really close and I hope this is the direction they are going, it certainly feels that way!

To me, this is the most important enhancement Microsoft could do to help me with organizing my to-do list. As it is now, I sort my emails into a few context related folders for follow-up, and then I also have my to-do list which lives inside it's own application. For years I have been looking for a system that allows me to combine emails and to-do items into the same folders. As it is now, I have to look at two different lists. I'm really seeing that MS To-Do has improved a lot since I last used it, and it is my impression they are moving in the right direction, so I'm committed to giving this another shot. Seems like they are close to achieving something I have longed to have for many years.

We have options to set recurrence for every weekday, every day, every week, every month, every year, etc.

We also have the option to customize the recurrence. You can have a task repeating every ‘x’ days/weeks/months/years.
