This week we’re rolling out a brand new Planned list on Android (version 2.17) which gives you a 7 day week view. You can view the tasks by day or by list.

It will be coming soon to other platforms.

The overdue tasks in the Planned view need to be broken up choronologically just like the future due dates are. I would like to see a list of the tasks, that were due yesterday and this week instead of having them lumped in with tasks that may be years old. The current view of "Earlier" ("overdue" on Android) for everything that was due before today makes overdue tasks disappear into a black hole instead of emphasizing that they need follow up.

@jeni alexander The Outlook Tasks button in OneNote is a single click from a drop down selecting a due date or none. Only with custom dates, do you get a pop-up of the Outlook task. This is much simpler than what you describe.

I'd prefer to keep the current To Do tag as is, maybe change the naming of it to avoid confusion. The "Outlook Tasks" button already syncs a task from OneNote to To-Do with bi-directional sync, so there's no need to add another one and sometimes (actually quite often) you just want to create a checklist in OneNote with checkboxes you can check off as you go without every checkbox becoming a task in To-Do.

Why don't you use the Outlook Tasks tag in OneNote, which syncs both ways between OneNote and Outlook/To-Do?

We now have the All and Completed smart lists across all platforms.

We also have a brand new Planned list, rolling out now on Android (version 2.17), and coming soon to other platforms. Here you get a distinct Tomorrow and Week view. You can also group the view by list.

When is the "Planned" smart list coming to iOS? I have version 1.41 installed, but it's still missing that list. I only see it in the other platforms (Android, Web and Windows 10).

The task details are definitely more interesting than the list of tasks. On a desktop monitor you see a whole lot of wasted white space that could be used for the task details.

This would be very helpful both in the desktop app and the browser version, especially since we now have groups, which cause the list names to be indented.

While we aren’t adding automatic population of due dates to My Day at the moment, we have made some significant changes to the Planned list.

Rolling out on Android now (version 2.17), and coming soon to other platforms, you can now see a distinct Today view in the Planned list. You can also choose to group this view by list so that you get a view of what you have to do today across all your lists. You can choose to close particular lists e.g. Home if you don’t want to see it while at work.

If someone assigns due dates to each task, they can take advantage of the new "Planned" view that's already available in the web app, which lets you see your tasks with due dates grouped by Today, Tomorrow, the Next 5 Days, and Later.
I don't agree that "My Day" should be auto-populated. It's a tool to help you focus on specific tasks, not just a list by due date.

Auto-populating "My Day" should be optional. I have a long list of to-do's and I like having an empty list to start with in the morning where I can choose which items to focus on for just today.

While we aren’t creating a My Day version that you can plan the night before at the moment, we have made significant updates to our Planned list.

Rolling out now on Android (version 2.17), and coming soon to other platforms, you can now view a distinct tomorrow view in the Planned list. You can also group the view by lists so that you have a view of all the different projects the tasks from. You can choose to close list sections so that you only concentrate on one list section at a time.

I second what Anssi Niemi and Tianaina commented below. The "Planned" views are great to sort tasks from all lists by upcoming due dates in chronological order (and I can't wait to see them in the desktop and mobile apps) but they serve a different purpose than "My Day", which lets me choose what to work on 'today' regardless of due dates. Not being able to plan the tasks I want to focus on tomorrow and instead having to wait until after midnight or the next morning, is not how I like to plan my work. I want to start my day with the "My Day" list already ready and waiting for me. This is still missing.

Being able to plan a day or two ahead, instead of only being able to plan today, would be helpful.

The mobile app already allows for multiple accounts, but you have to sign out from one account to be able to sign into the other compared to the Outlook app and others, where you can simply add accounts and then switch between them. It would be great if To-Do would support the same behavior and interface as other O365 mobile apps.

With the last update of To-Do across platforms we have enabled the option to see flagged emails from Outlook as Tasks in Microsoft To-Do. Simply flag an email in Outlook to create a task from it in To-Do.

You can enable this feature in Microsoft To-Do from within the App Settings.

To get the latest version of To-Do please go to https://products.office.com/en-us/microsoft-to-do-list-app

More info on this bug report: It is not related to "My Day" but happens in the "To-Do" list as well. It happens on Android and in the Win 10 Desktop app. If the task is completed on the day it was due, the newly generated instance gets the same due date as the already completed task. If the task is completed after the due date, the newly generated task gets the correct due date in the future.
