For now, you should be able to see the tasks that are due today in your “Planned” smartlist under the “Today” bucket.

The way it is, "My Day" is utterly useless. I need to see the urgent (= due today or overdue) and the important tasks on one list. There's usually a reason why I added a due date of today. And I don't feel like digging through all lists every day in the morning just to re-add a lot of stuff that some stupid algorithm has thrown out. Guess what, there are tasks that need more than one day to complete. "Suggestions" is not a solution but a clunky workaround. So please please add the option to auto-populate "My day" with the two types of tasks I mentioned (urgent/important).
"My Day" doesn't even do right what it's intended for: If anything, every sane person would populate a list for the next day in the evening. Can't even do that.
