High disk usage
When I run the ToDo app, it constantly writes at a speed of 2-5MB per second to the hard drive.
Process Monitor reveals constant writes in the app's .storage and .storage-journal
I'm going to stop using the ToDo app until this is fixed. This is extremely high hard drive wear for an app that should just read or write occasionally.
OS: Windows 10 10809
I could replicate this problem and unblocking the domain fixes it. This shouldn't really be an issue at all though. An error message from the app would be more sensible.

Same issue here. Just constantly writing to my SSD and slowing down other resources.
Currently writing 12MB/sec to C:\$LogFile and .storage
OS Windows 10 2004 19041.508
Still nothing on this after a year? Come on Microsoft! I must have accidentally written TB of data to my SSD because of a to do app by now.
constant high reads on my SSD as well :/

This destroyed my SSD.
To Do writes about 600GB per day and my SSD only has a lifetime rating of 100TBW.
So after about 120 days the SSD died.
Same here, using up to 76% of CPU & 80% (3.6gb) of memory. The fan spins at full throttle & To Do is virtually useless. I have a screenshot of Task manager processes if anyone from Microsoft would like to take a look

Still a problem on Windows 10, running version 2.20.2006.10003. I can only have it open to do what I need to, and then have to close it to save resources
Same here. High disk usage and fan spinning at max speed on Surface Laptop 3. I have not tried to unblock mobile.pipe.aria.microsoft.com but if I disconnect the power (running on battery), the fan drop to a normal speed (but disk usage persists). I opened a ticked earlier this year on this and the tech told me to reinstall the app. I did but the problem came back...
Happens on 4 different Windows 10 installs. One of them on a clean install of Windows 10 1909 without even signing into the app - 17MB/s.
Has this really been happening for a year? I'm seeing 11MB/s when the app is open. Just updated to the most recent version from the app store and nothing is fixed.
Still the same - To-Do writing around 25MB/s to my M.2 NVMe SSD, what is it doing? this is crazy . I hope I caught it in time as I have left it running in the background for days, I hope it hasn't shorten my SSD's life

Still an issue. Seeing 10% CPU usage and significant disk writes (highest disk user of all apps) while dormant and blocking domain "mobile.pipe.aria.microsoft.com". Confirmed that both disk and CPU usage returned to normal by unblocking the domain.

I can confirm that this issue is still present.
Non-stop 5-10% cpu usage & 1 - 5Mb/s r/w to disk. (i5-8250u)
When disconnecting VPN & connecting to external adsl wifi + reopen app cpu & disk drop to 0%.
When sync is initiated the performance cpu goes to 0.1% & disk writes 0.1%
I'm checking with our networking team to see if whe blocked or can whitelist the domain mobile.pipe.aria.microsoft.com
Blocking telemetry by blocking domain "mobile.pipe.aria.microsoft.com" should not cause the app to consistently read/write disk... Still a bug...
Thanks @Cameron Leask you just saved my (life)ssd :)

Thanks to comment below from Andrew Foster, whilelisting domain "mobile.pipe.aria.microsoft.com" in my PiHole and restarting the app resolves.

Confirmed whitelisting mobile.pipe.aria.microsoft.com in my PiHole makes the problem go away, after restarting the app.
Still having this issue, reporting 3.7 MB/s... this is stupid high for a task manager that works with bytes of data. :\
The issue is still present in the most up to date version that I am using.
I am seeing this issue. Version 2.2.1910.8006.
