Add Outlook Categories to Tasks
Ability to sync with Outlook categories and sort by categories within the app.
Available on the web app of To Do.

Agree with previous. Categories are essential and should not be difficult.
Should we rate the app as 1star on play/appstore to get attention?

Categories are essential for me. No point using To Do without them
I agree with the comments below. It would be THE feature that can take the app to the next level. Any updates on this?
Two years ago this question I see on line was asked! PLEASE listen to the obvious issue being asked for again and again....that the To Do list is failing to support......The availability to use and sync CATEGORIES and link with outlook emails as the FLAGGED option does. It is vital that categories is supported as this doesn't make the To Do list fully worth using!!????? Its very limited like that, and you are swapping to outlook tab every time etc.
Please can you advise why this isn't in use and when it will be, its not a hard item to include in the programs????????
I don't find categories in the web To Do app at all.
I use categories extensively in the Outlook desktop and web apps.
This shortcoming prevents me from using To Do instead of Desktop Outlook Tasks (which apparently only works in the desktop app)

How is this feature - a core fundamental basic, not yet available? What is going on??? Seriously, I have been raising this issue for more than a year and falling on deaf ears! I think I know the answer!
Asking people for what is important you don’t always get a fair representation! Prime example with dark mode having more votes than this absolute core basic functionality. Please sort out the basics first before asking public to drive your roadmap!!
Must have... Add this before working on “tasks” for teams!!

Absolutely essential that this feature be added. My productivity is seriously hampered without

Current To Do structure does not provide context. Task-shifting is a mental drain. To Do is impeding my ability to shift context efficiently and effectively. I need to effectively chase an ongoing conversation. I need to contextualise/relate assigned (from Planner), requested (email or chat) or self-defined tasks. I need to efficiently filter out non-related tasks when my task backlog looks like my mother's shopping list.
Finally got to updating categories for my to do list in outlook and just realizing that feature doesn't carry over to the To Do app. Please change this!!

Why are we still waiting for this ? It seems to be implemented in the calendar for Outlook for iOS now
No categories, useless app.
Thought I would use To-DO to manage tasks from Planner, outlook . Should have known.
1 step forward two step backwards for user!
Cannot use categories! Whats the point of Microsoft To Do.
App To do doesn’t have category grouping so it doesn’t match with outlook to do list! It is incredible that a Microsoft App is worst than a third party App! I use Task Task and it works better
This is a super-important feature-- otherwise it's a step down from MS tasks for just about any task app
To do without categories is useless for me. My system use categories in outlook and I it necessary to have them sync with to do

Just deleted ALL my MS To DO LISTS as they have no point if you cannot see them associated with the Tasks and reverted back to Outlook Tasks
MS To Do needs to up its game here, a long to go. Forget the flashy graphics..Incorporate categories and enable one to view each task associated to a List to a Category...its fundamental... to LIST and Print in Categories with full visibility of everything...
No Categories has totally wrecked my productivity! I used TASKS extensively with CATEGORIES to group them to track all my work for many years now.
