Automatic populating of My Day
I have several Lists each with numerous actions. I assign Due Dates to each action. Every day I have to troll through all my actions and Add to My Day on all those actions which are due today. It would save an awful lot of time if an algorithm could be devised by Microsoft which automatically registers those actions due today in My Day
For now, you should be able to see the tasks that are due today in your “Planned” smartlist under the “Today” bucket.
897 days and counting 🥴
Yes, this please automatically populate "My Day" with tasks that have due dates assigned to them! This is a much needed feature!
It will be grat to put an extra button to link a Email with my to do list, similar to "following Flag" with out getting this email in anothe folder, just to see that is something that i have to do.

I often want to use my last working minutes one day to plan for the next day, so if I could assignee tasks to tomorrows To Day-list is would solve my needs.
Please add three customization options (Y/N):
- Automatically add planned reminders for today to My Day
- Automatically add planned tasks for today to My Day
- Automatically add non-completed tasks from the past to My Day
Right now My Day is useless. But the feature has potential. Just work some more on it.
I also agree! If you could add this feature, it would make this application a lot more useful!!!
I’m agreed! I need this improvement. I hope it will be implemented very soon!
I totally agree it would be a great improvement if you could automatically populate my day as others have said.
I spend way too much time doing it manually almost every day. Otherwise your app is fantastic.
I was afraid when we lost Winderlist it would go downhill but you have definitely improved it.
Are there any more Changes coming so that the Task will automatically go to the My Day tab on the due date. If i click "Add to my day" on the tasks when i create them, then all the task independently of the due date show on My day. It would be so much better if on My day I can see the tasks set for that date instead of having though all the tasks and move the ones that i want to set for that date - i thought that was the point of adding a due date. If i have to re do the list every day, what is the point of pre setting tasks?
So I had enough and finally sent the following to Microsoft ToDo Support (prepare for rant):
"I want to use Microsoft TODO, I WANT TO USE IT! This could literally be the best simple-task list app in the world and it's like you guys just don't want that. Every time I start, three days in I am completely exhausted at trying to manage my tasks and ALSO MANAGE THE STUPID - I repeat STUPID - MyDay feature. Who in the world wants to manage their lists TWICE!? Don't BS yourselves either, that is exactly what you are forcing people to do.
I get it, you want to introduce people to a new way of doing things, but you aren't introducing it, you are forcing it down our throats. As a developer it is beyond me why people aren't being fired over this. If I put out an app that had this many requests over many years to adjust a feature in such a simple way and I chose to ignore it, MY EMPLOYER WOULD FIRE ME!
So what the hell? This is the one feature that is holding Microsoft ToDo back from greatness. It is like you are winning an Olympic race, you are in first place and 10 feet from the finish line ready to claim the gold medal and you just stop and let others pass you. Do you guys not want to be the top task application in the world? BECAUSE YOU ARE SO FREAKIN CLOSE TO BEING THE BEST BUT YOU JUST WON'T LISTEN TO YOUR AUDIENCE! Just look at what people are saying TO-THIS-DAY and you refuse to listen to your users:
Let me close by saying I LOVE THIS APP, I want to love this app and I have tried to get used to MyDay, but I just want an option to disable it if I can't have an option to automatically add scheduled tasks and yes even overdue tasks to the MyDay dashboard.
P.S. Please go tell whomever decided that they wanted to force their supposed "new and improved" abstract way of managing tasks (that is clearly born of reality-detached academia) that they can shove their ignorant idea up their ass."
tasks do not repeat while not completed

I have voted for this as well, It would be valuable to have the My Day populated with my current tasks.
One other ask for this group. Is there a request to enable "Delegate access" to my day? If it can't get it auto populated, can give my admin rights to set "My Day" tasks?
There should not be a discussion on either or but should be included as a selection on/off in the Settings to have My Day populated automatically. Customer oriented apps typically provide options
So I'm going to say this in the calmest way possible because obviously it hasn't been said already.
look at the comments, LOOK at the comments, LOOK AT THE COMMENTS!
OH MY GOD WHY AREN'T YOU LISTENING TO ALL THESE USERS!
JUST 👏 ADD 👏 THE 👏 AUTOMATIC-POPULATION 👏 FOR 👏 MYDAY!
Hi Polly and everyone else who obviously has the same problem.... one of the reasons why the "MyDay" feature should have the option of auto-population is that the "Planned Today" list stands out like a sniper in a ghillies suit.... it's like saying 'oh, and by the way, there's something on today if you can be stuffed finding it'.
I have to agree with the guys on this one. The idea of my day is to have and overview over the tasks you want to do today. It should automatically update the view with the tasks that is due today.
It should als be possible to set a task due to a specific time on a specific day without a reminder or/and get a reminder the day before.
Automatic adding to My day is needed .. atleast make it an optional feature which we can switch in settings

It would be a huge improvement from my point of view.
