Automatic populating of My Day
I have several Lists each with numerous actions. I assign Due Dates to each action. Every day I have to troll through all my actions and Add to My Day on all those actions which are due today. It would save an awful lot of time if an algorithm could be devised by Microsoft which automatically registers those actions due today in My Day
While we aren’t adding automatic population of due dates to My Day at the moment, we have made some significant changes to the Planned list.
Rolling out on Android now (version 2.17), and coming soon to other platforms, you can now see a distinct Today view in the Planned list. You can also choose to group this view by list so that you get a view of what you have to do today across all your lists. You can choose to close particular lists e.g. Home if you don’t want to see it while at work.

This again is not the same thing as the request, at all. I want to minimize the amount of time i have to poke around this app. I work out of the My Day list primarily. It would be a huge improvement if I didn't have to replicate my own work once I've set a date.
Please make this a toggle option! I like the my day list, but I’d really love if items with a due date would automatically get added there.
I agree, we need an automation to populate My Day with all tasks before planned. I suggest to change My Day in Today and add a register for all closed issues

Could you make the automatic population of My Day tasks an account option so that we could choose to turn the option off or on?
Remove the My Day list, it is obsolete. Include Overdue grouping in the Planned list not Earlier grouping.
Add the My Day list to smart lists so it can be turned off.
I hope I can schedule time for each task in My Day, such as Go Shopping 8am to 9am, instead of just a deadline. I know this can be achieved in outlook, but the tasks in To Do are more often personal and trivial. Thanks!
Often we do not complete my day tasks and it would be nice to have them added to the next day without too much hassle. Also having them visible the next day so one does not have to go searching for them in the different lists from where they came from.

I totally get what you were intending for the my day page, but it seems like a lot of people are just copying the things that are due onto my day. You might want to look at the data and see if people are being intentional like you intended, or if you're just making them do a bunch of manual work. I know in my case it's just a bunch of manual work and I'd really like the option to have things that are due that day or even overdue, show up on my my day list. I can always remove them, and I know I would remove a lot less than I add each day.

You guys are working on this idea since 2018 and 2021 is about to start.🤷♂️

I would love for scheduled items to automatically be populated into My Day. The extra step of placing items into My Day is unnecessary in my view and should be optional or removed all together. It's easier to remove items from My Day if not required.
Add the My Day list to smart lists so it can be turned off!

So I write a recurring task that I do not want to forget (like maybe water the plants every other day), and you're telling me that adding it to My Day every other day is the better way to go?
I really love the app as a whole, but this is just too annoying.
You're not really working on it MS... please add the feature as requested. Or like others have requested allow "My Day" to be turned off so it's not clogging up the side menu.

Having to populate the My Day list manually every day is a waste of time for me

Just started using To Do and literally found this by doing web search of how to fix this annoying problem. I want to love To Do, but that is a huge negative. Sure can use the Planned list but then what in the world is the My Day list for? Maybe a list called "Due Today" or something then. Frustrating.

Having to populate the My Day list manually every day is a waste of time.
For this reason the My Day list is redundant as the Planned list has this feature along with the option of various view dates as mentioned by Polly seven months ago!!!
Therefore, the My Day list needs to be added to the smart lists with the option to turn it off.
The iOS reminders app has had the auto population of their Today list for some time.
With nearly 8000 votes, this improvement is a no brainer.
