The Note section should allow rich text formatting
Numbers, bullets, bold, color, font, hyperlinks, images, files, checklist..like the way Trello allows.
+1 This is a must!
This can't be stressed enough: markdown.
One of the most wanted from my side...
ToDo lists are not only shortlists to remember to buy bread and butter...
Perfect would be to be able to add rtf formatted text to evolve whats behind bullet points of subtasks and to extend the tasks with the steps already done in the history of a task...
It seems that on the Web application, some basic formatting is possible through keyboard shortcuts : <ctrl>+<u> <ctrl>+<b> and <ctrl>+<i> are working, and typing "1. " starts a numbered list. A few weeks ago, I managed to get a bullet list by typing "- " but now it does not seem to work any more : maybe MICROSOFT is working on this feature ?
Unfortunately, it only works on the Web application and the formatting set on the Web application is not displayed on others platforms (I tried WINDOWS and ANDROID, even line endings are lost) ; however, on the Web application, it seems to be saved from one session to another, so it could be useful for someone using exclusively this platform.
This is a must for self organizing notes in tasks.
This will help to have list with different hyperlink in words.Easy to take any reference and goto any link

It is difficult to understand that we now have less functionalities ...
markdown is amazing

+1 for Markdown. Microsoft has support in some of their services like Azure DevOps and Teams and would love to see this more side spread
Support for hyperlinks should be a definate.
On the syncing to Outlook tasks retain the formatting.
Expanding the detail pane would be good too.
Totally agree, really miss this feature. And editing the Note section should be able to open up to full screen.

This is essential to my workflow. I think teams has done a great job of allowing markup in their chat, it'd be great to follow that flow.

Syncing from outlook tasks, all formatting is lost.
Such a basic feature I just assumed this had it when I first tried the app. Such a disappointment that we can't even color code tasks individually.
And Check box!
With several levels.
