Add button to hide/show completed items
Rather than having option to hide/show them in menu create a switch on top of list to quickly toggle between the two views.
Please make it like it was in Wunderlist: a toggle at the end of not completed tasks to show/hide completed tasks with number of completed tasks.
We have been VERY frustrated with the switch from Wunderlst to To Do. We send and invite to each other and it isn't recognized. It keeps telling us that the list is not available when we try to agree to accepting our partners list. We agree with previous comments. It stinks that we can't just delete the items that we buy in the store without going to the delete button. We want it to be like Wunderlist!!!

This could at least be added to the settings options page for mobile apps. Why "remove" features?
Unbelievable, Seperation of Completed tasks is still not available as in Wunderlist;
unbelievable, newly completed stays on top of completed task is still not available as in Wunderlist.
It's 2020 now, Microsoft!

I agree that there should be a button, but the more important problem is the sort order of completed items. When "Sort by Completed" is selected, the most recently completed item should be at the top. This is how Wunderlist works. It is important for the grocery list use case. We've gotten so used to this behavior that I'm not sure how we'll deal with the new behavior. It is very useful to have the items that you bought last time at the top of the list because they are the most likely ones you'll want to buy next time. The "accidental completion" case is critical too. I am seeing the just-completed item going to some place in the middle of the completed list. If you're not even sure what you clicked on by mistake, how are you going to find it?
On the flip side, ALSO being able to sort the completed items alphabetically is a big improvement from Wunderlist which does not have the ability to sort the completed items in any other way but most recently completed at the top. I just want "Sort by Completed" to do the right thing, which is to put the uncompleted items at the top and sort the completed items in reverse order of completion
Provide instead a ‘task completed‘ list/view, where completed tasks move from daily to do list to a Task Completed list

This is the one feature that is preventing me from switching to To-Do but when this button is pressed, the completed items should be separated from the other tasks, not intermingled. I use shared lists with my wife to go grocery shopping. We often click a button to unhide completed items to readd items that we purchased from a previous trip to the grocery store. Please bring this functionality to to-do!
Yes like wunderlist does
Hide/Show completed tasks should be everywhere on all platforms.
Auto Hide/Show completed tasks should be a setting.
All completed items should be at the END of the list in all areas with the options to "hide completed tasks" which would simply collapse them (like they used to do in Wunderlist) ... hit the toggle to re-reveal them.
Reading through these suggestions (so many of them around this subject), it is clear that the platforms are all different when they should be consistent. People seem to have this option somewhere ... I'm viewing in Safari and don't see it anywhere. By platforms, I mean PC, Mac, iPhone, Android, all browsers, Outlook -- everywhere.
I want my Hide/Completed buttons back. THAT’S THE WAY I GROCERY SHOP. Please restore this VERY USEFUL FEATURE. Thanks

I have two main scenarios for shopping lists:
1. I prepare for shopping, and want to re-enable already completed items to buy them again, so I switch to show completed items, and start unchecking what I need;
2. I do shopping, and want to hide items I've taken to the basket (but possibly want to quickly switch to show hidden items again to verify something). So I again use that menu item.
So this options is not a preference which I may use rarely, it's a tool I use every time I use the app.
Another suggestion is to somehow filter/sort/highlight recently completed items, so that when I switch on showing completed items I can quickly spot the items I took recently (i.e. during current shopping session).
And allow users to specify whether they want their default view to show all items, or only incomplete items
YES! Please change it so there's an option to default either way AND a BUTTON (not a menu setting) to toggle show/hide on each list page.
I just switched from iCloud Reminders, and To Do is great -- except for this.

I was about to switch to to-do from Wunderlist but this is stopping me. I can’t believe it’s not implemented yet.
Re-implement the "hide completed" feature in To-Do.
This was a feature in the old Wunderlist. And it needs to be restored.
Seriously. The iOS app is unusable without a "hide completed" option.
Literally: Not. Usable.
There are a couple design choices that conspire to make it this bad.
Briefly: I imported my Wunderlist data into To-Do.
I added a new item to my "Personal" list.
By default, new items are added to the bottom of a list.
(I don't see any way to change this behavior. But, that's another feature...)
The list displays many (possibly THOUSANDS) of completed items from the years' worth of Wunderlist data that I imported.
So...it's not actually possible for me to move the new item to the top of the list.
It isn't even possible for me to SEE the top of the list.
I can scroll until my thumbs blister. And I won't get there.
Related: there's no position marker on the right hand side of the list.
There's no widget to touch-and-drag.
There's not even any indication of where in the list I am.
(There's yet another feature waiting to be requested.
But it wouldn't be critical, if we could hide all the completed items...)
Somehow my new item showed up in the "Planned" list.
Not clear why it did that, or which items show up there.
But, there it is.
So, I might be able to see it in To-Do, and get reminded about it.
But I definitely can't use the app like I expected.
This was my first attempt at using To-Do, as a migrated Wunderlist user.
And it has not gone smoothly.
Add a "hide completed items" option.
Consider another suggestion: "Hide Items Completed Yesterday or Before".
IMHO it would be better if there's a global option in the setting menu to allow users to determine if it's able to switch on/off this feature to hide completed TO-DO tasks.
I couldn't agree MORE with this. I just lost an entry, and I have NO idea where it is. I thought maybe I completed it? WOW, having to go through my entire list to show then hide completed....YIKES! I gave up and decided it can't be that important. Kind of SUCKS that my tool to manage todo items lost one of my to do items. :< AND it can't help me find it.
When a task is completed the user needs to go into the settings and select to hide the completed tasks, while I think it should be the other way round, the completed tasks should be hidden automatically, if the user wants to show there yes You would need to open the settings
