Make it like Wunderlist!
Make it like Wunderlist! You own Wunderlist so why not just rename Wunderlist instead of starting with a new and featured challenged app!

Today we’ve launched a brand new version of To Do. We took on your feedback and brought back some design elements of Wunderlist, but with a refresh. Now you can customize each list with a different background and choose from images (including that Berlin tower), color and pastel backgrounds.
Read more about it here – https://aka.ms/m365blog/newtodo. And let us know what you think over on Twitter – https://twitter.com/MicrosoftToDo or Facebook – https://Facebook.com/MicrosoftToDo
We’ve also recently launched our Mac app, list groups and task assignments.
We’ll close this thread now. If there are still features that you would like to see please vote for them on the separate feature suggestions.
We hope you love the new look as much as we do.

Check out Zenkit To Do, saved my day for an alternative. Still missing some features but the support team are responsive and working on improvements.

You call this completed? What was completed? This To-Do feels like a time travel trip to the past. It sucks. Can you get a better intern to manage this merger and integration? It is incredibly frustrating to watch a great looking, productive app, be killed by incompetence and hatred for beautiful things (unless they are created internally). You killed the soul of the app. It's creativity. It's look and feel. It's features and ease of use. I can't wait for another Wunderlist-type to come out so we can dump your stupid To-Do app.

This has not been completed! this new app sucks and lacks so many of the basic features from Wunderlist. Why try to fix something that is not broken?
So disappointed. Will keep using Wunderlist till the very end and in the meantime look for an alternative that are not Microsoft ToDo -
I Miss Wunderlist commented
loved wunderlist, microsoft to do is unusable for even the most basic functions, why didn't they just swap it. Mind blowing, ruining such a good app, but in typical microsoft fashion. Now I have to find a new to do app.

wunderlist is awesome.
functionality, usability and especially the interface / design.it's almost fun to open the app and get stuff done. microsoft's to-do is a white page that already has the appeal of work and chores. ugh.
i also don't understand why microsoft didn't take wunderlist 1:1 (and eventually make it better, although i'm perfectly happy with it as it is and don't need it to get overblown with functionality). i get the impression that this is frustrating for everyone involved, users and developers alike.
normally i'm not attached to apps, let alone take the time to comment on them, but i have to say: i miss wunderlist already.
the other to-do apps aren't much better, guess i might to go back to pen and paper :-/

"…some design elements of Wunderlist, but with a refresh…" Eh, it looks just horrible. That's several steps backwards. Wunderlist was beautiful. Good design is more than a photograph of "that Berlin tower".

You didn't complete it. You still screwed it up. Give it back to the owners - you suck. Also, why would you change the name. Did anyone thikn what googling "todo' would do? It's the dumbest name i can think of. It's almost as dumb as calling Sunrise "Calendar". Whoever thought of that should be thrown in the middle of the ocean.

Just keep every single functionality of Wunderlist.
I can't believe that the chat space has been grouped and the notifications hasn't been considered to this platform.

It's still so much worse than Wunderlist

I have just transferred over to this new to do list and HATE IT!! Please make sure all functions are the same as Wunderlist. Dates need to be on the right hand side, print and email functions available and I cant see any options to change the background. Please just keep Wunderlist or make microsoft to do exactly the same as so many of us rely on this to do our jobs!!

Not completed until you at email to list functionality (Or at minimum make IFTTT work) ...was forced to sign up for Todoist today due to that MAJOR required feature lacking as I primarily used Wunderlist to add groceries and other items to remember to my list through my home assistant while AWAY from my phone and computer. Add the feature and I will come back to your program.

Agreed that this is not completed. You can't say "today we've launched a brand new version of To Do" and call that completing the task of using Wunderlist's existing platform. That's just not a true statement.

THIS IS NOT COMPLETED. This needs to be reopened! This is nothing like Wunderlist - you all need to figure this out ASAP. A lot of us rely on this to do well in our jobs. This is definitely URGENT for you all to figure out!

Please bring back the function to print and send per Mail back to "To do"
Even to invite people to the lists is terrible! Wunderlist hat a Message that you got invited to an list. An build in SMTP Server would be needful in background, or however wunderlist made this for costumer, you have the source code from the program. Please build it like Wunderlist, is it so hard to do???Thanks and sorry for my Bad English. I am Austrian...

Microsoft - Are you guys serious? You are talking about colors and background when all we need was the same functionalities we had in Wunderlist. They were tested and worked, why exclude them?
Who cares about the background when i can't interact with comments on a task that i have shared with others? I really don't understand the way you are approaching this. I made the switch to To Do and then realized that the comments feature was inexistent. Now i will be going backwards and switch back to Wunderlist or look for another task manager.

This is not completed.
If I marked my tickets complete at work without completing 3/4 of the work I would get fired.
This is treating all of old Wunderlist customers with complete disrespect.
It's like GM buying Ford and removing the wheels and engine from everyone's cars but telling them everything is just the same. The doors only open outwards, who needs an engine light because there is no engine.
You had the opportunity to build on something and make it better and instead have left a trail of destruction behind?!

On September 9, 2019, I wrote (and I am now repeating with greater emphasis)
"Polly, if the assignment was to build a five-story building with an elevator, and you completed only one story, would you announce that it has been COMPLETED? Has anyone, anyone at all, 'sat down' with a Wunderlist user and seen with 'their own two eyes,' the dozens of features of Wunderlist. Here is an assignment:
1) Take down your COMPLETED sign
2) List all the features of Wunderlist
3) Do the same thing with To-Do
4) Compare the two lists
5) circle the items on Wunderlist that To-Do does not have.
6) Get those things completed.
7) Then, and ONLY then, can you repost your COMPLETED sign." -

Wundewrlist is Function over Form. Microsoft To Do unfotunately is Form over Function.

No need to copy the "look" of Wunderlist. Keep your own design language, or have a "retro wunderlist option" for those that want it. Keep the great (and copied) features coming though - few will complain about that if done well.
