Inbox
it would be nice to have a default folder for all new entries
The Tasks folder is the default folder for all new entries. We have renamed it from Inbox.

Flagged emails do not show up in Tasks, so you don't really have a central To Do inbox. The "Inbox" should be a place to collect, not take action upon.

I agreed. It would be great to add new task by default to tasks/inbox and not to My Day folder

Please add an inbox to make it easy to use. The tasks folder that was renamed from inbox is confusing for users who want to adopt a GTD workflow in MS todo. There should also be an option to set the default list. Other apps like 2do already have an option to switch the inbox on or off depending on the way you work

In my opinion it is not only to have an inbox, but to also use it intuitively. I don't care about the naming so much – you could just create an inbox list and always navigate there yourself when creating a new task. But this is just not intuitive and a broken workflow. If you want people to move from Wunderlist, please create new tasks automatically in a central place. Have a look at this feature request and upvote: https://todo.uservoice.com/forums/597175-feature-suggestions/suggestions/39251857-add-new-task-button

Hi Polly. It isn't always default. When adding from the notification or sharing something to To Do it defaults to "MyDay"

Polly, have you actually read David Allen's book, Getting Things Done? The first basic principle is to have an inbox. You have many believers in this concept. Please don't be stubborn. Either rename it, or allow us to rename it. It is basic.

Well, Microsoft always knows better than its customers and users what is better for them. For this he must always stand out from others.
Two years have passed since the problem was reported, and you still can't change the name of one control or add options in the settings? Embarrassment. -

Any plans to give the end-user the ability to rename Task to Inbox? The term task to totally misleading....the Inbox is for planning not for listing task

Agree that users should be able to rename "Tasks" to inbox. Really minimal change with huge impact

Please reconsider the decision to rename "tasks" from Inbox. That simple naming difference shows the inept ability to grab GTD users from other services. Figure out if your product is a note tool or a task management tool please.

A central way of working, for example with GTD.

It could be solved with the ability for the user to rename "Tasks" folder by "Inbox" which fits better to the GTD approach. Moreover as all the folders are about tasks, it is strange to have one named "tasks" ...

The list "Inbox" can work as incubation and the it is a must have a list where we are able to see all the todos, and it can be the list "To-do".

Default list for tasks should be INBOX. All new tasks should go to INBOX

In addition to an inbox, I would really like a global create button in the mobile app, that would create the task in the inbox instead of the list currently being viewed. Have migrated from Todoist, and this is the only feature I miss.

The To-Do's list can work as an inbox. However, those using the GTD method may find it last confusing. Perhaps create one and make if default for sending tasks?
