Archive, Delete or Hide Completed List/Task
Some of the lists may have all completed task and the list may not be valid anymore. Can there be option to archive or hide a list? Some recurring items which have over dozens of completed records, should be archived too.

This is very easy to solve. Just create a new group and name it "Completed". Then drag all lists you want to hide/archive.

If you have a list with too many completed tasks, could be good to just start a new list with the same name, move all your open tasks over and then delete the old list. Maybe note down any key tasks you completed any reviews your have with managers.
This could be a task for the end of the year, or start of a new year.

That's great idea. No one wants to delete history.

This request has been under review for nearly 2 years now. Maybe any update from MS?

Archived lists indispensable for historical use cases. But they can be used for many other use cases (e.g. list/project templates).

Thanks in part to Omar's post back on October 1, I was able to do this, though not automatically! You should have a smart list named "Completed." (If you don't you'll need to go into Preferences and check "Completed" on the Lists tab.) Next choose the "Completed" list, and then from the main menu choose Edit | Select All and then Edit | Delete. You can also select all with Ctrl-A followed by the delete key. (You may need to use Command-Delete on a Mac.)

You can delete all you completed tasks. Click you profile settings > Smart List > Slide the “Complete Tasks” option > Go back to Home Screen > Go to Complete Tasks > Edit > Select All > Delete. You can also go through them and create an Archive list and move any/all the completed tasks you want you keep there before you delete them. I just don’t think you can keep them with it being “completed” and crossed out.

I agree with us all. I have thousands of Completed tasks dating back about 5 years, and the current Task Delete function will take forever to delete one by one. Most frustratingly, the Completed Tasks being so many of them, is now slowing down my ToDo app on mobile and PC :(

This is a crucial feature for managing projects. Having a completed project still showing up doesn't make sense.

I would like to see a facility where bulk deletion of completed tasks can be done with one click. I can't understand why this is not available - it just seems such an obvious time consuming improvement that would benefit all users.

I would also like to see creation date in the completed task list.

I agree with others that, at the very least, we need an option to archive lists as an alternative to deleting. I have over a year of tasks for an organization in a list under my personal account. After finally getting funding for a domain and MS 365 tenant, all new lists and tasks are stored under a work account.
Meanwhile, the old list is still awkwardly showing in To Do under my personal account. There's no option to export and import it to the work account. My only choice is to leave the old list there sticking out like a sore thumb forever or permanently delete it and lose all the task history.

I would prefer the completed task to be deleted right away or after X amount of days, depending on whatever suits you, but we need that option to be available.
