Copy and Paste Lists and Tasks
This was a really handy feature in Wunderlist - the ability to copy/paste both lists and tasks...
I had a number of template lists which I could copy if I needed. For instance, a generic list of holiday items to pack which would be copied/pasted each time I went on a new trip.
Thankfully - the excellent integration with Outlook means I can do this at the Outlook end, and it'll be replicated in To-Do! :)

On Web, you can duplicate lists and tasks. On Windows, you can duplicate lists but not tasks.
Basically you can have templates for lists and duplicate them on both Windows and Web.

Making it available on all platforms not just some would be ideal. Currently I have to log in to TO DO on my PC for some features and use the app for other features. This is very clunky.

Copying tasks and lists allow for the creation of 'template' tasks and lists so that tasks that have predefined steps and that are procedural in nature can easily be managed and small projects can have a predefined set of tasks as work packages.I see the features are available on the web version, please bring these features to iOS and Windows Desktop apps.

Polly,
Besides lists and tasks, based on several comments what people are looking for is also on how to copy and/or drag-and-drop steps contained within a task into another task.
Is there a way of doing this?
Thanks.

Polly,
As admin one would expect you to be more meticulous with your claim.
Tasks cannot be copy pasted in Windows App or Web.
Please upload a video if you can prove it otherwise!

some of you are commenting that you are able to do this on your PC. I have just tried and cannot figure out how. Any help would be appreciated

Copy Tasks: GOT IT! Had to login from my laptop at Microsoft To Do. From there, the option to Copy a Task to another List is available. Thanks, all!

I would like to be able to copy and move tasks and lists. Each project I have shares lists and tasks that re-occur. I have template lists which are used for each projects. I changed the templates/lists sometimes. With current version, I have to duplicate a list, move into a folder, remove the old template and then use the new one (and check those tasks which were checked before). If I could update my list/template and then copy the new tasks in it to an already existing list inside a folder, I would not have to replace the list altogether.

Copying and pasting tasks does not work. Unfortunately I return to Wunderlist 3.19

Unfortunately, I haven't found a way to copy a task on MAC.

I can copy the task on Outlook, but it does not take any of the internal checks of the Task on Microsoft To Do.
That shows you how to copy and paste the task, but all the internals of the task do not copy over.

I need to dublicate tasks not lists. Wonding what is the use case of duplicate lists. Use case is, that I have a todo with some checkpoints e.g. creation of an contract and I what to duplicate the todo including the checklist points.
What is the use case to dublicate Listgs including the todos in it?

Apparently this is a working function on on the Windows version of TODO, but not on the IOS version. Please do that work on MAC, I've been waiting for this for years. :( Really sad.

I also used this feature frequently in Wunderlist (you could use "CTRL+C" shortcuts a well). It is definitely lacking in ToDo. Please add a "Copy Task" option to the Windows app, and if possible also to the Android app, and iOS App.
For reference:
- Windows App: you can right-click to Copy List, but not a Task
- Web App: you CAN right-click to Copy Task, but the web app is extremely slow and difficult to use if you have a lot of tasks. Also, it does not allow you to copy to "Tasks" -

Really thought this would have been included in yesterday's release. Even though there's a new, beautiful MacOS app, I'm stuck using the web version until this is added - which is less than ideal.
Use case: I build templates and make copies of them for different tasks. This was a big part of my workflow in Wunderlist and a need to have for me. Given how many other glitches there are in To Do, I'm nearing the end of my rope before I move to a new tool entirely.

I agree. It would be very useful to copy tasks that are recurrent but not regular (in my case, tasks like "do the grocery shopping", "put a load of laundry on") I would like to be able to do this from my mobile app and not only from the web
