Copy and Paste Lists and Tasks
This was a really handy feature in Wunderlist - the ability to copy/paste both lists and tasks...
I had a number of template lists which I could copy if I needed. For instance, a generic list of holiday items to pack which would be copied/pasted each time I went on a new trip.
Thankfully - the excellent integration with Outlook means I can do this at the Outlook end, and it'll be replicated in To-Do! :)
On Web, you can duplicate lists and tasks. On Windows, you can duplicate lists but not tasks.
Basically you can have templates for lists and duplicate them on both Windows and Web.
I need to copy and paste lists and tasks why is not alredy possibile do it???????
I need to readily copy lists and tasks from To Do and paste to Exel, Word, Messages, etc. Just a simple copy and paste would do me wonderfully!!! I do not use the web version of Outlook, only the PC version.
I want to use my To Do lists in Word and Excel so I can further prioritize, edit further and/or outline, and share, etc.
I currently have to email myself lists and can only do a few items at a time. Then I have to eliminate the check boxes using find and replace in Word, etc.. The process is really slow and just an inefficient work-around.
(I prefer a C&P paste without the check boxes, or as an option.)
I hope you make this change soon! Thank you for your consideration and the great improvements already made!

Guys this is real easy, so this is not a feature on the To Do list, but there is a way to this really simple, you duplicate the task you want to copy, and then go to your new task you just duplicated, and now you have a new list the same as the old one, they even have the same name and steps, change the name of that new task and then move your new task to the old list, and now you have copied the list, make sure to erased the duplicated task that you don’t need, you can do this as many times as you want to.

I see Move items option is there, it would be nice to have Copy items to another list feature also available. That would be handy in scenarios where we can copy items from grocery backlog to a more customized grocery list for specific instance of purchasing.
AHHHH, why hasn't microsoft fixed this yet??!!!! Please guys, it's such a PITA!!! Please add this feature. I need to be able to create "blank templates" for different tasks. Thanks!!
Why has there been no progress on adopting this key feature the app? Why is To Do such a shambles of missing features / features on some platforms and not on others? This is a CRUCIAL element for an effective task list manager and the fact that it doesn't work on all apps is ridiculous.

This from a productivity standpoint was a real game-changer and was a crucial reason why I loved Wunderlist so much.
With my switch to To-Do since Wunderlist is dead now, this is going to be the deal-breaker for me during the switch.

Should work this in the app as well not only online. Should I make my own to-do app?
We desperately need the ability to copy and paste list items and steps (sub-lists). The Print to PDF doesn't allow editing and has much too large paragraph spacing. I need to be able to paste into Word then format and adjust as needed.

It looks like this is not available on the desktop version.
The web version allowed copy/paste up until yesterday, April 15, 2020. Now, the copy function still shows up in the dropdown (right-click), but it is faded and unable to be selected. Glitch??

Copy and paste tasks and lists are very useful feature in this kind of apps, especially if you works with many tasks with common steps/lists within each tasks. It is so annoying and time waisting to input each step and lists within each tasks we create. I wish this feature would be available soon.. very soon :)
Yes In the web version you can copy tasks and lists, but it would be very nice if this is also possible in the app for iOS and Mac.

You can copy tasks on the web version which is very helpful. But you can't print from it. You can print from the windows version but NOT copy tasks. Please make either one have both options. It's very frustrating to constantly move back and forth between them.
Yes copy task was excellent and very useful in Wunderlist. Unfortunately Wunderlist is being closed down. Can you copy and paste a task yet in ToDo?
If you need this now, its available through the web at to-do.microsoft.com
Less than ideal but its getting my by for now.

@Polly the ability to copy/paste or duplicate tasks is NOT available on the Windows ToDo app as you claim. When will this feature become available? Or should I just continue using the better platform known as Trello?

The ability to copy and paste an individual task is not available on the Windows version. It is so disappointing that Microsoft To Do still lacks so many of the features of Wunderlist.
Aside from copy & paste ...
Offer ability to link each item within a task list to one or more addtl task lists. So you duplicate/cross reference an item in multiple lists, rather than just copy & paste an item or retype/enter manually into each task list. This is a very helpful option. I used it often on an app on my old droid phone.
