Project-based To-Do lists
It would be amazing to have to-do lists per project, where in one single view a user can see it's own tasks disregarding the project (overview on top of projects). This would also benefit the follow-up of assigned tasks within a project by for example a project manager.

Please make ALL smartlists groupable by the original lists AND sortable within these groupings !
Otherwise the todos are mixed up in a big mess !
Linked it with ms project tasks
Ms project tasks should appear on resource To-do list as a task
This is a must for us! I need to assign tasks to people who aren't going to look in Project everyday but do work of their to-do app.
Saw this capability referenced in a Microsoft video. Gives me hope.
I'm patiently waiting for this feature.

This is a must, we need updates on this feature for Project for the Web. Please let us know when this will be completed.

This would be super handy. One of the things that's stopping me from migrating from Todoist

I extremely need this feature as I create lots of projects and I need each step as a separate action and I want to be able to move each action to its proper list but my project(wrapper of actions) need to be updated and maintained

The integration between Planner and To Do has become indispensable. I am not going to be able to on board Project for the Web internally or for customers until the tasks in Project for the web sync with To Do. I'm all about the rapid development of these tools by Microsoft but I would also like to see a complete product and not a partial delivery.
I think that having the individual lists per project is more functional than having the separate buckets in Planner. Especially when trying to handle seven projects and deadlines at once.
I understand that MS Project interfaces with SharePoint task lists. However, the integration between SharePoint task lists and Outlook Tasks/To-Do is non-functional. This integration would really bring the project management to the next level.
Integration with MS Project, Project Online and Project for the Web ist very important! In my opinion, there is no reason why not to integrate it. To-Do should be the single point on tasks in the MS universe. How can Project etc. be not included?
Yes, this is the Wunderlist feature I miss the most!
My personal tasks and my for profit org and not for profit org and all the projects under each entity are all lumped in together so I have to waste my time each day trying to figure out what is what and THINGS GET MISSED which is the WHOLE REASON WHY I have a task manager. So things don’t get missed!
Maybe I should just use Trello

Yes! It would be great to see my MS Project and Project Online assignments
Re Planner, ToDo, and a future next gen Project (as I doubt we'll see all the capabilities of Project vanish any time soon; there's just too many valuable pieces to the PM puzzle that MSP provides): would like to see a grouping of todo's via an import from MS Project.
Another key element is ability to pull from Active Directory/Global Directory as well as manual entries when assigning tasks [via MSP or TD].
I evaluated Planner and Teams last year to leverage on some small and mid-sized projects. Unfortunately both are still embryonic and focused more on tactical small collaborations; not really suited yet for enterprise class projects (and complexities of same).
So what are we really looking for?
Well, sounds like the data sheets that originally described Project Central. I state Data Sheets because PC never really worked well, was never fully integrated into active directory, and had lots of holes in it... like sync and integration between PC project submittals and desktops. It was ugly. But the data sheets that described it by MS Marketing folks really represented what we all wanted. So MS, I'd start there... at those data sheets full of promises... use that as your grid for what we want Teams, Planner, ToDo's and Project to provide and you'll kick butt in the market.

This sounds like something Planner is meant to do in the first place? Set up a Plan, assign tasks, done.
Yes, I am looking for something similar (as Omnifocus has; and related to my GTD workflow). A Project related tab/section that I could define actions to, which in turn would be still visible in the individual context list of actions
Having a project view with all tasks associated will also allow the user to review projects as a whole and update tasks associated with the project.
Projects would be really awesome, I think integrating it with Planner into one app would be awesome
Projects are a must! Also to add the ability to intelligently add them, like Todoist in Mike's comment, where typing in the task entry field you can automatically schedule and assign projects, priorities, etc, simply by typing them into the field and it auto-detects and does the rest for you.
To build on the projects feature request, I realize you can add individual Lists for projects; however, I view a project grouping definition to allow for a defined "Due date", which sets all tasks created under the project with a default due date set to the project's due date (and allowing to modified / move the date forward, but not after the project's due date)
