Outlook Mail Integration
Having a quick way to convert emails in Outlook to tasks that show up in Microsoft To-Do.
If you have enabled the ‘Flagged email’ option from settings in To Do, then any email you flag in Outlook will show up under the ‘Flagged email’ smartlist.
From the Outlook web app, you can create a task out of an email by right-clicking —> Advanced actions —> Create task. You can also select a message in the body of an email and create a task out of it.

It would be a major boost in productivity if we can integrate our "folders" inside Outlook, with our "lists" inside To Do. Flagging email inside Outlook in order to manage them inside To Do is inefficient, especially when you get 100+ emails a day. I tend to flag inside Outlook only when there is a clear due date, but I won't use the "no date" flag; instead I move that email into a context related folder inside Outlook for follow-up later. I would love to be able to process my follow-ups within To Do in such a way so I can see my non-email related tasks alongside my email related tasks, all within the same context related tasks.
I noticed today inside To Do that I can move a flagged email into a list, which is a step in the right direct, but this adds an extra processing step. What I mean by that is I first need to flag it inside Outlook, then go into To Do to move it to the appropriate list, which is poorly inefficient. As I mentioned at the start, please integrate our mail folders with To Do lists, so that whatever folder in Outlook I move a message into is also viewable inside To Do, under that same folder/list.
I've been looking for a way to combine email and task lists into the same system for years, and it just has never existed (from what I've been able to find). MS is really close and I hope this is the direction they are going, it certainly feels that way!
the title of the email is often not terribly helpful as a todo reminder phrase; however if you go back to the email to modify the title, the todo does not update with the new title
- Open outlook in app, rather than web
- Marking action complete to also update flag in outlook to completed.

Kindly include a sync with the outlook email flags...
Why can I not open a mail from ToDo in the outlook App. The mail is always opened in a Browser Window. But I will open teh mail driect in the Outlook App.
In the desktop Outlook app, this option puts a flagged email into the desktop To Do app. This is great.
HOWEVER.... In the desktop To Do app, clicking on the flagged email entry opens the flagged email in the WEB Outlook client, which I almost never use, and is very slow by comparison to the desktop Outlook app.
If the desktop app is present on the same PC or Mac as the desktop To Do app, surely clicking on the flagged email can open it in the desktop Outlook app?
This would be a great feature within the Mac Outlook app. Will this be available in the future?

I use an installed version of 365. when I click an email in to do, it opens it under the web version of office, which I normally don't use. Can this be changed?
if you have the app To Do installed on your PC is there a change that the email link shown for Email Task, can open using the Aplication Outlook instead the outlook web? Would be great to do this.
This is great, however it will only work if your todo list is using the same email address as your mailbox. I have several email addresses. My MS ToDo list is linked to the one that is also linked to my microsoft 365 login.
Thank you for this feature. It is what makes useful todo.
It works properly with outlook for Windows but the last version of outlook for Mac dosen't work anymore (before yes). I have the last update of outlook!
needs to open the flagged emails in the outlook program rather than the web, this especially important as there are some of them part of a different email conversations that you can easily track on Outlook desktop program but not on the web

this program sucks... I have been online since 1984 ... and using a computer since 1979. I still haven't figured this program out.
I would like to flag from my MS Office version of Outlook. I don't have a company hotmail account so have to send my work e-mails to my personal hotmail account to flag them. This has so many drawbacks. I would think as To Do is Microsoft and Office is, the two should work together. The lack of this ability really limits the value of To Do for me.
The choice to open in Outlook Desktop or Outlook O365
flagged emails have to open in the Outlook office desktop app, not on OWA !
What I need is NOT outlook.com ！As an office user, I would like the Microsoft To-Do can integrate "outlook" in the office.

It's almost impossible to find experienced Individuals for this particular subject, however, you sound like you know what you are talking about!
Need to be able to drag and drop email into a task list. And have the To Do app open Outlook desktop for linked/flagged messages.

Would be great to be able to drag and drop an email into the task list. Maybe having a link to email within the task app, so when you click on the reference link it will open back up in Microsoft outlook
